CSI TO END SUPPORT OF MASTERFORMAT™ 95 ON DECEMBER 31, 2009
Alexandria, VA (June 29, 2009) - The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) announced that the organization will cease to license and support MasterFormat™ 95 as of December 31, 2009. Please read the following press release published today by CSI.

SPECTEXT® UPDATED TO ICC INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE, PLUMBING CODE, MECHANICAL CODE, FUEL GAS CODE, AND ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE
ALL ASTM REFERENCE STANDARDS IN SPECTEXT LIBRARIES VERIFIED AND UPDATED
SPECTEXT®’s philosophy has been to globally revise and update all affected sections in all SPECTEXT® libraries whenever a code or standard change has occurred. That’s the approach SPECTEXT® has taken with the ICC International Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Fuel Gas, and Energy Conservation Codes as well as ASTM's.
Over 567 SPECTEXT, SPECTEXT II and OUTLINE Specification Sections were updated to the ICC International Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Fuel Gas, and Energy Conservation Codes.
All ASTM referenced standards in the SPECTEXT libraries were verified and updated. When required, the technical content of the SPECTEXT, SPECTEXT II and OUTLINE Libraries were updated in conformance with the content of the current standards.
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN LANGUAGE ADDED TO SPECTEXT® FOR LEED®
SPECTEXT® includes specification language to help specifiers easily include sustainable design
requirements in project manuals to meet LEED® certification criteria. Sustainable design submittal,
quality assurance, and product requirements now appear in technical sections that may contribute to
a certified project.
A new EDITSPEC® Tool, Delete Sustainable was introduced to enable users to easily delete all the new
sustainable design text inserted into SPECTEXT® sections for projects that are not required to be LEED®
certified.
