SPECTEXT® TECHNICAL REVIEW COMMITTEE
SPECTEXT® is written and maintained by nationally recognized practicing architectural, civil, mechanical and electrical specifiers with a minimum of 25 years experience in preparing project specifications on a daily basis for a wide variety of projects covering all disciplines. Information gathered by SPECTEXT® specifiers from actual project use, practical experiences, and contractor's questions help you reduce errors and questions during construction.
SPECTEXT® undergoes a continuous technical review process utilizing the experience and expertise of practicing architects, engineers, specification writers, project managers, industry professional trade organizations and others to help ensure SPECTEXT®'s technical content is held to the highest standards.
The Construction Sciences Research Foundation would like to thank the members of the SPECTEXT® Technical Review Committee for their diligent efforts to improve SPECTEXT® for the benefit of all SPECTEXT® subscribers.

Roger C. Newberry, P.E. , Project Manager , Michael Benza & Associates, Inc. - I have been engaged in the practice of Civil Engineering for just over 35 years, focusing my work on the development of commercial, institutional and residential sites. I have worked for a large range of clients, from the Federal Government (Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, FEMA) to local municipalities; from single outlet store owners to Wal-Mart; from suburban school districts to Kent State University. My current focus is on the health care market, working with several local hospitals to update and expand their facilities. My first specification writing experience came in 1974 while in the employ of Dalton-Dalton-Newport in Cleveland, Ohio. My experience with SPECTEXT in particular extends back over the past 8 years while working at Thorson Baker & Associates in Richfield, Ohio and here at Michael Benza & Associates. I have been responsible for specifications prepared on main frame computers, dedicated word processing systems (Wang), and personal computers (through DOS and Windows environments). Over the length of my career, through several changes in employer, I have encouraged and promoted the use of CSI formatted specifications for all of my projects, rather than specifications written in-house for specialized types of construction.
