SPECTEXT® EDUCATION PROGRAM

As part of an ongoing effort to educate architectural and engineering students about the specification process, The Construction Sciences Research Foundation, Inc. (CSRF) began a program in 2002 to provide colleges and universities with the materials they need to incorporate specification writing practices into their curriculum.

As the only master guide specification system that closely conforms to the formats and practices recommended by the Construction Specification Institute, SPECTEXT® offers students, colleges and universities a unique opportunity to coordinate CSI specification practices with the specification system designed to follow them.

SPECTEXT® is clear and concisely written using the imperative mood to clearly relay instructions to the project team.  SPECTEXT® follows the three-part CSI format as well as CSI MasterFormat™ 04 and 95, SectionFormat™, PageFormat™ and the CSI Project Resource Manual:  CSI Manual of Practice.

If your educational institution has a professional practices course that incorporates specification writing in its curriculum, your institution may qualify for a SPECTEXT® Educational License.  Eligible institutions receive a current complimentary educational version of SPECTEXT® and SPECTEXT® II Facility and Building Libraries with all accompanying documentation.
