SPECTEXT® — CLEAR, CONCISE, AND SIMPLY BETTER
SPECTEXT® is a database of pre-written full-length, short-form and outline master guide specification Sections designed to be used for preparation of project specifications and to create a company master specification system.
SPECTEXT® uses a word-processing based edit-and-delete process that accommodates a wide range of projects, from those where only simple edits are required, to those where extensive customizing is needed. Using your Microsoft® Word, SPECTEXT® and EDITSPEC™, provide for uncomplicated specification development process that is easily learned and utilized by those responsible for preparing specifications.
CSI FORMAT COMPLIANT
SPECTEXT® closely conforms to the specification formats and style recommended by the Construction Specification Institute -- MasterFormat™ 2004 and 1995, SectionFormat™, PageFormat™ and the CSI Project Resource Manual: Manual of Practice. CSI has long been recognized as the standard for specification development in the industry.
SPECTEXT® is written in the CSI three-part format and coordinates with standard general condition documents published by the American Institute of Architects, American Society of Civil Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
SPECTEXT® Section content provides language for various specifying methods, including reference standards, descriptive, performance and proprietary.
GLOBAL UPDATING KEEPS SPECTEXT® MORE CURRENT
SPECTEXT® continuously updates its section content globally throughout the entire SPECTEXT® library. This means when a code or standard referenced in SPECTEXT® is updated, every affected section in all SPECTEXT® libraries is updated at the same time. Comprehensive Summary of Changes keep SPECTEXT® users informed about all of the changes made in SPECTEXT® whenever new and updated information is published.
SPECTEXT® SPECIFICATION LEVELS
COMPREHENSIVE Libraries consist of a combination of SPECTEXT®, SPECTEXT® II and OUTLINE Specification levels addressing a specific discipline.
SPECTEXT® consists of detailed, full-length Sections designed to be used as a framework for writing project specifications or creating customized office masters for large projects, multiple contract work, construction management, and smaller, less complex projects.
SPECTEXT® II, an abridged version of the SPECTEXT® database, SPECTEXT® II short-form Sections are designed for developing preliminary specifications and specifications for residential, light commercial and low-rise buildings, requiring less editing than SPECTEXT® Sections.
OUTLINE Specification provides an efficient method for summarizing materials and installation specs during the design phase of construction. OUTLINE may also be used to prepare specifications for small projects.
